Marina Shenfield
Marina Shenfield grew up in a rodeo family, competing in barrel racing and roping events as well as gymkhana. She rode before she walked and is now an avid team roper, amateur photographer and journalism student at MacEwan University. Competing in and covering the sport of rodeo is her passion. While competing in the Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, she covered each of the events in a photo essay for one of her capstone projects. She currently writes for MacEwan University’s student-run magazine the griff, where her stories are focused on student life as well as downtown news. She lives north of Edmonton near Gibbons, where she ropes and works on her project horses year round.
Marina is honoured to have been chosen to write the blog posts for this association. She has friends and family that are firefighters, so this opportunity brings together many causes that are close to her heart.
