Kyla Williams is a 22-year-old avid horsewoman who resides on an acreage just north of Gibbons, Alberta and is currently working for a legal firm in downtown Edmonton,AB. Since 2005 Kyla has participated in 4H through the Gibbons 4H Lighthorse Club, honing her skills of public speaking, horsemanship, leadership, mentoring, and community service. 4H and its community led Kyla to Rodeo and Team Roping. Kyla has a strong passion for representing the sport of rodeo and our Canadian western heritage.
In 2015, Kyla was crowned with the title of Miss Rodeo Sundre and was honored to represent the Sundre Pro Rodeo Association and the town of Sundre while traveling around Alberta educating rodeo fans about our western culture.
“It is very critical that we educate and share our knowledge about rodeo and the western way of life to individuals who are unfamiliar with the sport”.
Kyla is an experienced horsewoman, having started riding before she could walk. Starting with her first pony when she was just 6 months of age, Kyla has had a life infused with varied experiences that instilled a lifelong love and passion for horses but most importantly Rodeo. When time allows, you wilfind her in the practice pen working with horses or practicing her roping skills.
Kyla believes in family values, being kind hearted, supportive and setting and accomplishing goals. She has a strong moral compass that has led her thus far in life and is driven to continue mentoring and educating. “As I travel down the rodeo trail it is my goal to empower and motivate individuals in following their dreams and be themselves”. Kyla is honored to have the opportunity to represent the true values of a cowgirl and to represent western heritage and the tradition of rodeo.
